Many Multifinances Collapse After the Pandemic? This said the OJK

Bisnis.com, JAKARTA - The number of healthy financing industry players appears to have started to decline at the beginning of the 2021 period due to not being able to escape the pressure of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Financial Services Authority (OJK) in the Non-Bank Financial Industry (IKNB) sector also had time to conduct internal research which revealed that of the 180 finance companies (multi), 25 percent or 45 companies are in a crisis phase.

OJK said that it would take action against the 45 companies if they could not find a way out to save their businesses by March 2021.

Head of the OJK 2B IKNB Supervision Department, Bambang W Budiawan, revealed that at least four types of finance companies are still under surveillance.

"In short, for those who quit, some gave up and then returned the permit. There are also those who find it difficult to improve their business conditions, so we have to revoke the business license," he explained when confirmed by Bisnis, Tuesday (23/2/2021).

Two other types, still have hope to maintain their license as a finance company.

But it has homework to find strategic partners in business development or to facilitate funding sources.

"So there are some of them who will partner with strong financial groups, to consolidate.

But not infrequently there are also those who are still struggling to find a suitable and useful partner for their future, "he added.

Based on the official website of the OJK until this news was written, at least two multi-finance companies had stopped due to their license revocation, namely PT Bringin Srikandi Finance and PT Wannamas Multi Finance.

One company is listed as returning its multi-finance license and switching to another business, namely PT Mirasurya Multi Finance.

Meanwhile, companies that are still freezing OJK because they do not meet certain regulatory standards or business health, including PT Panen Arta Indonesia Multifinance, PT Bhumindo Sentosa Abadi Finance, PT Daya Sembada Finance, and PT Otomas Multifinance.
